Information

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is an important part of commercial mortar and plays an important role in commercial mortar products. The effect of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose on cement-based materials includes water retention, thickening, liquefaction and retardation, and the excellent handling properties of commercial mortars also affect the macroscopic and microscopic structure of cement hydration products, thus The mechanical properties of the production impact.

The performance of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose in commercial mortar:

a) Flexibility: Thin layers of materials are used as bases in modern buildings, such as cement fiberboard and gypsum board. Rigid cement-based materials cannot be deformed with the deformation of these materials, thus causing the bond faces to detach. Only when a polymeric softener is used will the binder have sufficient ability to absorb the application.
b) Adhesion: Cement can only bond on porous substrates, but such substrates are rare in modern buildings. The polymer can be firmly bonded to the non-porous substrate, so mortar can still be used on non-conventional materials.

c) Opening time: Thin layer mortar is very easy to lose water and dry due to evaporation or absorption of the substrate, which in turn causes the cement to have insufficient water to harden. The addition of the polymer increases the open time of the dry mortar and also increases its adhesion to various substrates.

d) Water resistance: Thin layers are usually used in decorative construction, such as topcoats. Therefore, there is a certain waterproof requirement, and the pure cement system cannot be satisfied.

e) Impact resistance: All rigid systems are susceptible to impact damage, which can be greatly reduced by the addition of polymer powder.

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose has an extremely wide range of uses in commercial mortars and is used in large amounts as a water retaining agent, thickener and binder. In ordinary dry mortar, external wall insulation mortar, self-leveling mortar, tile bonding mortar, high-performance construction putty, anti-cracking internal and external putty powder, waterproof mortar, gypsum-based mortar, caulking agent and other materials, hydroxypropyl A The base cellulose plays an important role and has an important influence on the operation performance, practicality, operable time and mortar construction method of the mortar system.
